You probably already want to prepare this suitcase. Clothes for you and your baby, toiletries, papers… what will you need to bring to the maternity ward? But when should you pack your maternity suitcase?

This is a question that plagues all future parents. Who says suitcase for maternity, says travel light! Your stay in the hospital or clinic lasts on average between three and five days maximum. All in all, a long weekend!

So no need to arrive loaded like a donkey at the maternity ward, especially since your companion and your family will be at the little care and will bring you "on demand" everything you could have forgotten!

Maternity suitcase: the essentials for the delivery room

For babies:

Depending on your baby's predicted build, over the various ultrasounds, you will opt for clothes of size "birth" or "one month". It is better to turn directly to bodysuits and pajamas for "one-month-old" babies (he grows up so quickly!).

Depending on the season, adapt the length of the sleeves: it There's no need for them to be long in the middle of August!

Also give preference to press studs, rather than pretty little ties, this will make your life easier when changing. Natural materials, such as cotton, are more than ever recommended.

For Mum:

Also remember to bring a pen and a small notebook on which you can write down the feedings and/or bottles as well as any questions you wish to ask the childcare assistants .

To complete the maternity file:

      3. An identity document
      4. Your family book or early recognition
      5. Your vital card
      6. Your health insurance card
      7. Your blood group card

Remember to ask your practitioner during your pregnancy follow-up if you should bring a copy of the health record of your loved ones because some maternities require that those around you be vaccinated against whooping cough.
