Your child's sleep is essential because it allows him to grow well. For it to be of optimal quality, the mattress of the baby bed must be well chosen and if possible organic, in order to keep it away from any harmful substance. At Rêves de Libellule, our evolving baby room and all our bedding products are 100% ecological.

How to choose a cot mattress?

First of all, the mattress must imperatively be adapted to the size of the bed, it is a question of safety. If it is too small, your child can slip and get stuck in the gap between the bed frame and the mattress, putting him in danger. With regard to baby beds , mattresses 70 x 140 cm or 60 x 120 cm are standard.

For sleeping comfort, density is decisive. It's not about thickness, but about the quantity of its components, a crucial indicator of comfort and support. For them to be perfect, it should neither be too big (very firm mattress) nor too weak (soft mattress): between 18 kg / m3 and 22 kg / m3 ideally.

At a time when more and more children are prone to respiratory problems or allergies, the use of eco-friendly bedding can reduce its magnitude. But to be sure not to go wrong, choose a product with labels or certifications. Also see our article on the natural baby mattress.

Our baby mattresses: ecological for a healthy bed

Preserving the health of the youngest was our priority when designing the Lit'bellule bedroom, which is why it is made of natural wood.

For bedding - mattresses and baby bed linen- the use of organic materials is also essential.

Do you know that if you don't pay attention, when buying the mattress for your child's bed, you can unknowingly expose it to chemicals?

Indeed, when it is not ecological, the padding, the fabric and any treatments applied necessarily contain it.

In addition , choosing an organic crib mattress means reducing children's exposure to toxic mattress products, while providing them with high-quality bedding.

The characteristics of our crib mattresses

The foams of our mattresses are made of high density polyether.

They do not contain no dangerous substances such as CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons), retardants flame retardants (PBDE, TDCPP and TCEP), mercury, lead, heavy metals, formaldehydes or phthalates.

They are composed of open cells which guarantee optimal breathability.< /p>

Their density is between 18 kg/m3 and 21 kg/m3: the bedding is therefore firm but welcoming for your little one.

Regarding the fabric of our cot mattresses, you have the choice between organic stretch cotton, anti-mite and anti-bacterial thanks to the Green First green treatment; polypropylene polyester or bamboo and polyester stretch viscose, which offers a feeling of freshness while being anti-perspirant and naturally hypoallergenic (anti-mites and antibacterial).

In terms of finishes, they all have quilted topstitching with patterns and are braided on both sides. Our baby mattresses have obtained the Certipur and Confidence Textile Standard 100 from Oeko-Tex labels: they protect your child's health while respecting the environment. Of course, they are made in France to limit our carbon footprint. Well protected in its cozy nest and away from dangerous substances, your child can have sweet dreams, and you can sleep soundly.
